One of the biggest problems for book snobs (it's not a bad thing to be one!) is that they want to own all their books. I'm not going to lie, I wish I could just go out and buy a book every time I found a new one that I wanted to read. However, I do not have this kind of money so I usually have to resort to other sources. What are these other resources you ask? The library. I will admit that reading a loaned book isn't the same as reading your own personal book, but trust me when I say that it is better than nothing. Another perk about checking out books from the library is that you don't have to use your own money to read it! Well, as long as you don't lose the book that is. Of course the main reason you would go to the library would be to check out books, but there are other benefits of regularly visiting the library as well. One of those reasons is the people. Think about it, the only people who frequently visit libraries are other bookworms; this provides an excellent platform to make new friends! In fact, this is where I make my friends (which I admit isn't that many, but still). My local library also offers a lot of programs for teens that range from just about anything- these are always a lot of fun to attend. They could also have book or writing clubs that you could join! Another plus of the library is that they have all the books you could ever ask for, and a lot of them have shelves devoted to new releases. This can save a lot of research time so you can have more reading time! By now, the library has become my second home. There is this stigma that all libraries are occupied by mean librarians who are constantly shushing you and dorky nerds. While the nerds part can be true, a lot of this stigma has been dismantled. In fact, the library is where a lot of the action happens. And the best part is that if quiet is what you seek, then the library is perfect for that too. It has the best of both worlds. Whether it is books or the bookish world, take a trip to the library! With all the stories surrounding you, it's almost impossible to not embark on an epic adventure!
