Description: An anxiety disorder disrupts fourteen-year-old Audrey’s daily life. She has been making slow but steady progress with Dr. Sarah, but when Audrey meets Linus, her brother’s gaming teammate, she is energized. She connects with him. Audrey can talk through her fears with Linus in a way she’s never been able to do with anyone before. As their friendship deepens and her recovery gains momentum, a sweet romantic connection develops, one that helps not just Audrey but also her entire family. Review: People often push a book aside once they hear that it is about a character younger than them. However, I am super grateful that I did not let this horrible preconceived notion ruin this opportunity for me. This book was amazingly well written, so much to the point where the age of the main character was no longer an issue for me. I have been looking for a great book that is able to accurately grasp what it is like with an anxiety disorder, and this is just the book. If you don't feel hooked quite yet, then let me add on with the humor. Sophie Kinsella has the gift of balancing humor and serious topics in the perfect manner. If Audrey's off-kilter family doesn't make you laugh out loud, then I don't know what will. This is the perfect contemporary book for any time you need a refreshing read. Rating: 5/5 |

LOL WorthyThis is not at all one of those books that continually make you sob (despite the preconceived ideas you may have from the description). In fact, it is so hilarious that I found myself laughing out loud multiple times. I promise, you will laugh at least once. ArchivesCategories |
