If you are a member of the Goodreads community, then you are probably already aware that you can create a goal of the amount of books you want to read this year and then also use the website to track your progress. This is not only fun because at the end you will feel a sense of accomplishment if you have succeeded, but it is also helpful for when you can't remember the certain name of book you read a couple weeks ago so you can just go see your past reading history. However, not all of us (me) are as civilized as most folk and have internet at home. I have found a multitude of ways to track my reading history so here are a few examples of creating goals and tracking your progress with them! (Note: these aren't my own pictures.)
1. Goodreads If you haven't at least heard of Goodreads then I have no idea what you are doing with your life and you really need to go check it out then come back to this blog post. Anyways, Goodreads is an excellent tool to use when tracking what you have read and looking at descriptions of books you may be interested in reading. It also gives other super helpful information such as pages read and most read authors. They also have a mobile app that you can use on the go!

2. Spreadsheets The second most common way people track their reading is by creating a spreadsheet. Basically you just create a spreadsheet using Microsoft Word, Google Docs, etc. and create enough columns for whatever you want to keep track of. You can keep track of literally anything about the book like what the gender of the main character is, how many pages there are, the author, the title, the color of the book, what genre it is, etc. After you finish reading the book you just add it to your spreadsheet and viola! Many people also like to keep track of the date they started reading the book as well as the day they finished the book. From there you can also calculate your reading pace if you want to!
3. Printables Printables are the best things ever invented for people who like to be super organized and there are various ones made for almost everything. Reading printables are great for people who may not always have internet access or who just want a paper copy of their reading records. There are different ones out there so you can find one that matches your personality. Printables can sometimes cost money but if you look in the right places then you can often find them for free or you can just use a google search and print out a picture of it (it still works the same). Printables are super helpful to me considering I do not have internet at home.
